Wrong way

The signs were clear.

They were lit with bright lights from all directions.

But I didn’t see it.

I continued walking.

There were people frantically waving their arms, as though they were telling me to turn back.

I didn’t. I thought they were cheering me on. I waved back in excitement.

I continued walking.

The skies turned black

must be cloudy.

The roads began to crack.

must be bad roads.

the air feels cold

Winter is here.

excuse

excuse

excuse.

Down the wrong path we go. we know we shouldn’t. Yet we always choose to learn the hard way.
